Our Privacy Promise

Slow Spot is designed with privacy as its foundation. We believe that meditation is a deeply personal experience that deserves absolute privacy protection. Unlike most applications, we have built Slow Spot to function entirely without collecting, processing, or storing any personal data on external servers.

Information We Collect

We do not collect session content, notes, or preferences. The update provider receives the app version, platform, and update channel; as with any internet request, it also sees the IP address. Slow Spot does not sell this information. Details are provided in Third-Party Services below.

Data Stored Locally On Your Device

The app stores the following information exclusively on your device:

• Your preferences (language selection, theme settings, sound preferences)
• Meditation session history and notes
• Progress statistics including streaks and total meditation time
• Custom meditation sessions you create
• User profile information (name, if provided)
• Mood tracking data after sessions
• Reminder settings (only if you enable reminders)

This data never leaves your device. We have no access to it, cannot view it, and cannot transmit it.

App Permissions

Slow Spot requires minimal permissions to function. The only optional permission is Notifications, requested when you turn on meditation reminders. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device: no push service is involved and no token is sent anywhere. You can use every core feature without granting any permission, and you can revoke it at any time in system settings.

Third-Party Services

We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising networks, social media trackers, or data collection services. All audio content is from royalty-free sources and is bundled with the app. We use exactly one external service: Expo Application Services, which delivers app updates. On launch the app asks it whether newer code is available. That request contains the app version, platform, and update channel, and none of your data. As with any internet request, the receiving server sees your IP address. Updates are cryptographically signed, and the app rejects any update without a valid signature from us.

No Tracking, No Analytics

We do not use any form of analytics, tracking, or telemetry, in the app or on this website. We do not know how many users we have, how often the app is used, or which features are popular. This site loads no third-party scripts and sets no tracking cookies, which is why it has no cookie banner: there is nothing to ask you about. The only things stored in your browser are your language and theme choices. This is by design. Your meditation practice is nobody's business but yours.

Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Since Slow Spot collects no personal data whatsoever, the app is inherently safe for users of all ages, including children under 13. We comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and equivalent international regulations by virtue of not collecting any data.

International Privacy Compliance

Slow Spot's privacy-by-design approach ensures compliance with major international privacy regulations including: GDPR (European Union), CCPA/CPRA (California, USA), LGPD (Brazil), POPIA (South Africa), Australian Privacy Principles (Australia), PIPEDA (Canada), and other regional privacy laws. Since we collect no personal data, we exceed the requirements of these regulations.

Your Data Rights

Under various privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you have rights regarding your personal data. With Slow Spot, exercising these rights is simple: View your data anytime within the app, delete all data via Settings > Data & Privacy > Clear Data, or delete everything by uninstalling the app. Since no data exists on our servers, there is nothing additional to request or delete.

Data Security

Your data is secured by your device's built-in security features. We recommend using device encryption and screen lock for additional protection. Since data never leaves your device, there is no risk of data breaches on our end.

Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal compliance. Any material changes will be communicated through app updates. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Legal Basis

This Privacy Policy is governed by Polish law. For users in the European Union, the data controller would be Slow Spot (contact details above). However, as we collect no personal data, data controller obligations do not apply in the traditional sense.
